Digitally designed and milled full metal crown and bridges provide a traditional option for strength and durability that have stood the test of time. Minimal preparation is needed for full metal which means it preserves most of the patient’s dentition. When occlusal clearance is minimal, full metal restorations are ideal for protecting the adjacent dentition and offering restorative endurance. They are digitally designed and milled in wax prior to casting for predictable results that are quality checked before the final step.
The metal substructure of full metal restorations can be made out of any one of a number of dental alloys:
• High noble – Precious. These alloys have over 60% gold, platinum and/or palladium content. High noble metal is one of the easiest alloys to adjust. Yellow gold high noble metal offers the best esthetics over any other PFM restoration. We offer PFM crowns in both yellow and white gold high noble restorations.
• Noble alloys – Semiprecious. These alloys have over 25% noble metal (gold, platinum, palladium) content. Noble metal crowns offer a more hypoallergenic restoration over base metal crowns at a more affordable cost over high noble crowns.
